Yard Waste
Yard waste pick-up will begin the week of April 1, 2024 and will continue weekly until Friday, December 6, 2024. The State of Illinois defines yard waste as grass or shrubbery cuttings, leaves, small tree limbs and other materials accumulated as the result of the care of lawns, shrubs, vines and trees. Examples of yard waste include grass clippings, leaves, branches, limbs, weeds, logs and garden plants. Your waste material will be collected only if it is placed in a 30-gallon Kraft paper bag with 1 Groot yard waste sticker affixed to the front of the bag. The bags and stickers are available at local retail and grocery stores. Yard waste will be collected on the same day that your regular trash is collected. Please have yard waste, trash and recycling at your curb by 6:00 a.m. on your collection day. Yard waste bags should not contain woodchips or dirt, and should not weigh more than 50 lbs.
Yard waste stickers cost $2.50 and may be purchased at Village Hall, 100 Parkers Mill, Oswego.

Spring and Fall Clean-Up
Each spring and fall, Groot Industries collects additional household waste, yard waste, and bulk items from residents at no extra charge.
In 2024, Spring Clean-up Collection will take place the week of April 8 on your regularly scheduled garbage day.
In 2024, Fall Clean-up Collection will take place the week of November 11 on your regularly scheduled garbage day.
Yard waste must be placed in 30-gallon Kraft bags, but stickers will not be required during this week only. During clean-up week, Groot Industries will not pick up appliances, televisions, electronics, or plastic bags containing yard waste. Place all items, along with your garbage and recycling, at the curb by 6 a.m. on your regularly scheduled collection day. Bonus Yard Waste Collection, week of December 2, 2024
There will be a Free Yard Waste Collection the week of December 2, 2024. Stickers are not required for this collection but leaves and other plant material must be placed in 30-gallon Kraft bags. Examples of yard waste include grass clippings, leaves, branches, limbs, weeds, logs and garden plants. Do not leave piles on the parkway or in the street. Place the bags, along with your garbage and recycling, at the curb by 6 a.m. on your regularly scheduled collection day.
