- The Citizens at Risk (C.A.R.) program is designed to allow residents who may be at a greater risk of becoming confused, lost, disoriented, or missing to be registered with the Oswego Police prior to an emergency. The Village Clerk’s Office is the official keeper of the records for the Village which includes but is not limited to intergovernmental agreements, Village project files, ordinances, resolutions, minutes of Board meetings and all other legal documentation in regards to the actions of the Village of Oswego. Records retention, storage and destruction are functions of the Village Clerk. The Clerk is also appointed as the Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) and Open Meetings Act (OMA) officer for the Village.

Recently Approved Ordinances
The Village of Oswego has in place a Code of Ordinances that regulates what is allowed and required in the Village. The Village also approves ordinances for local government including budget approval, variances, amendments, the annexation of property, development plans, and disposal of Village-owned property. The complete Code of Ordinances can be found on the home page of the Village's website by clicking on Municipal Codes, located under the Popular Links section. New ordinances not yet codified will be listed at the beginning of the list under the heading Pending Ordinances.
