Citizens At-Risk Registration
- Citizens At-Risk Registration
- The Citizens at Risk (C.A.R.) program is designed to allow residents who may be at a greater risk of becoming confused, lost, disoriented, or missing to be registered with the Oswego Police prior to an emergency. Boards & Commissions
Several boards and commissions help guide the decision-making of the Oswego Village Board and staff on a variety of issues, from historic preservation to land use. If you are passionate about making Oswego an even better place to live and have expertise you could bring to one of our boards or commissions, consider applying to serve. Cultural Arts Commission
The function of the Cultural Arts Commission is to initiate, sponsor, organize, and promote cultural and artistic programs and services for the enrichment and enjoyment of the Oswego community. Through this Commission, the Village of Oswego seeks to build awareness of and participation in all the arts – visual, performing, and literary as well as continually add to the established public art collection.
Economic Development Commission
The primary purpose of the Economic Development Commission is to provide advice and expertise regarding the economic development program, review and formulate economic development marketing strategies, serve as a sounding board regarding concerns expressed by the business community.
Historic Preservation Commission
The function of the Historic Preservation Commission is to preserve and enhance Oswego’s unique historic character by informing the community of the positive benefits of preservation, by enlisting public support and participation in the historic preservation process, by identifying significant sites that represent preservation opportunities, and by implementing a review process for historic preservation.
Planning and Zoning Commission
The Planning and Zoning Commission is appointed by the Village Board to serve as an advisory body to the Village Board. The Plan Commission is charged with the responsibility for reviewing a variety of residential, commercial and industrial proposals as they relate to the comprehensive plan and long-range development of the total community. The Zoning Board is charged with the responsibility for reviewing proposed variations or deviations from the Village’s Zoning Ordinance.
Oswego Police Commission
The Oswego Police Commission serves as the reviewing and recommending body to the Village Board on matters of hiring, disciplining and termination of sworn police personnel.
