Property of the Season Program

The Oswego Historic Preservation Committee Property of the Season Program has been created to honor properties, and their owners, that are deemed contributing to the historical and cultural character of the Village of Oswego. For the purposes of this program, a property can be defined as a structure, site, or permanent object such as a sign, clock, or other community icon.
Eligible properties must be within the Village of Oswego and be at least fifty (50) years old. The OHPC will review nominations quarterly based on only the information provided as part of the application. The Commission reserves the right to consider properties younger than fifty (50) years of age, which have significant contribution to the historical, architectural, and/or cultural character of the community and/or its neighborhood. Property owners are welcome to nominate their own property.
Nomination applications must be completed using the attached form and submitted according to the following deadlines:
- Spring: January 15th
- Summer: April 15th
- Fall: July 15th
- Winter: October 15th
Winning property owners and nominators, if different, will be notified of the time, date, and location of the presentation of the Property of the Season Award. Celebrated properties may be featured in local newspapers and Village Newsletters using the information and photographs provided as part of the nomination application.
