The Village of Oswego continues to grow with new development and redevelopment occurring all around town. To keep that growth moving and in line with the vision of our community’s comprehensive plan, Village staff are working to create a Unified Development Ordinance, or UDO, that brings together the current patchwork of zoning and subdivision ordinances into a single unified set of codes.
On Tuesday, Sept. 14, the Village will host an open house to introduce the Unified Development Ordinance and some of its proposed changes to residents.
With help from the Chicago Metropolitan Agency for Planning, the Village and local stakeholders have been working on a community-based process to update and modernize Oswego’s zoning and subdivision ordinances to create the UDO. When complete, the UDO will include updates to zoning districts, uses, subdivision standards, stormwater, zoning applications, parking, and landscaping rules and will give developers a single set of requirements for building in Oswego.
Come learn about the Unified Development Ordinance and help shape the rulebook that shapes our community at an open house from 7 to 9 p.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 14, at Oswego Village Hall, 100 Parkers Mill, Oswego, Illinois.
