Temporary Parking Exemption
A resident may request a temporary exemption for vehicles owned by them or a guest at their residence. To request a temporary exemption, visit our Online Parking Portal to start the process:
Process
- Create an account on our Online Parking Portal, verify through email, and log back in.
- Select Permits, then Apply for Permit
- Select Residential Exemption
- Select date (each date requires a new exemption)
- Select "Buy" (there is no charge, price shows $0.00)
- Enter address and vehicle information, and Submit the temporary exemption. You'll need:
- Vehicle license plate number (DO NOT ENTER SPACES)
- Vehicle make, color, and mode
- Date for which exemption is being requested (e.g. if calling to park on a Friday, use Saturday's date as parking ban starts at 2am)
Temporary exemptions are for times when you may have out-of-town guests or an event for which you do not have enough garage and driveway space to allow all the vehicles to park off street. These will not be permanent exemptions and each request will be reviewed by a watch commander.
No exemption is required during the following times:
- Easter weekend, Friday - Monday
- Memorial Day weekend, Friday - Monday
- PrairieFest (Father’s Day weekend), Friday - Monday
- July 1 – July 5
- Labor Day weekend, Friday - Monday
- Thanksgiving weekend, Wednesday - Monday
- December 22 - January 2, of each year
Should snow fall occur, the snow parking ordinance will supersede any parking exemptions.
